Adult Day Services for Adults with Disabilities and Aging Adults
Caring for a family member? You're not alone. According to the National Family Caregivers Association, more than one quarter of the adult population has provided care to a family member or friend during the past year.
Easter Seals Adult Day Services offer programs and resources to help you provide the best possible care for your spouse, parent, adult child or another loved one who needs assistance with daily living. The Adult Day Services provide a home away from home. The facilities possess a structured program consisting of a fellowship and reminiscing time, breakfast, lunch, exercise, current events, and individualized activities. We work to stabilize or improve a participant both physically and mentally.
Our Objectives
- Prevention of premature institutional placement and social isolation.
- Provision of support for families caring for disabled family members.
- Promotion of good health practices by assessment, monitoring and teaching.
- Provision of recreational activities for stimulation and enjoyment.
- Promotion of self-esteem and independent functioning through person-centered care.
Daily Activities Each month, a new activity calendar is created by a Certified Activities Director and/or Licensed Professional. Activities can include music, parties, games, crafts, field trips, and much more! We provide Intergenerational Programming with children and adults interacting through fun activities.
Meals Meals are planned and provided by a nutritionist. In addition, we are able to provide meals for individuals that need special diabetic and low salt intake meals. We can also provide special meals for participants who are a choking/swallowing risk. These meals include mechanical soft and pureed diets.
